RSTS - M16 - Concrete Plants

Course by: ARHCA

SKU: 1007

Description

Concrete is the most widely used building material in the world because it is necessary for the construction of roads, bridges and buildings.  Concrete is made in a plant by mixing aggregates like sand and gravel with other cementitious materials, chemicals, air and water.   The production of concrete is a hazardous operation that involves heavy mobile equipment, large plant machinery, quality control and safe distribution of the final product.  This course will provide you with an understanding of the many hazards associated with concrete plants including working with hazardous materials such as concrete, silica and acids, and the operational safety hazards of energy isolation, lifting heavy objects and working around heavy mobile equipment and conveyors.

This course is intended for anyone who works at a concrete plant – plant operators, labourers, heavy equipment operators, ready mix drivers, or anyone who works with concrete in construction.  The course content includes real worksite video with key concepts and terms reinforced by text and imagery and quizzes throughout based on on-the-job scenarios.  There is a final exam with an 80% pass rate required to complete the course and obtain the certificate.
